There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.

California Has Declared War on the Family
Families are now under a full-on attack by the State of California.
The attacks are focused on the most innocent, most helpless among us. Namely our young kids. And the insidious means of attack? The school system and the adults kids have been led to believe stand in their corner and have their backs, the teachers.
In the last decade and a half, a silent pandemic has spread among American youth: gender dysphoria and a radical medical experiment billed as its proper treatment. California is now poised to become a super-spreader—and confused children and their parents across the country will be the victims.
Gender dysphoria is a feeling of alienation between one's internal sense of "gender" and one's biological sex. Such feelings tend to resolve in 80 to 95 percent of kids if they are allowed to go through puberty unimpeded. But now, many kids are being fast-tracked to permanent body alterations called "gender affirming care."
This epidemic of the mind and spirit is not spread by contact or close quarters but by social media "influencers" and ideologues who have captured schools, medical groups, and state legislatures. In many states, teachers and government officials will encourage a child's claimed "gender identity"—whatever that child's sex—even behind parents' backs.
This treatment often starts with changed names and pronouns. It may then move to experimental puberty blockers, then cross-sex hormones and sterilizing surgeries. Double mastectomies, castration, and hysterectomies are just the beginning of this medical parade of horribles.
>>> On Offense Against Radical Gender Ideology
These drugs and surgeries can cause severe pain; permanent sexual dysfunction; long-term damage to bones, heart, and blood circulation; and sterility. And there's no good evidence that they improve kids' mental and emotional health.
Rather than face these facts squarely, some states, such as California, are now so far gone that parents can lose custody of their daughters and sons for resisting this effort to upend natural puberty.
Instead of fighting this contagion, California's legislature wants to spread it to every state. Senate Bill 107 now sits on Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk. If it becomes law, California courts will have the power to strip custody from parents, wherever they live, who doubt the wisdom of these experimental and irreversible procedures—if their child so much as steps foot in California.
The primary victims of this policy, of course, are the children. But it's also an egregious attack on parents' fundamental rights, which include the right to direct their child's mental and physical health care.
This bill mandates that doctors conceal a child's medical information from parents if it is related to "gender identity" drugs and procedures, even if that information is sought under a court-issued subpoena.
It would also allow California doctors to treat minors still in other states. With the advent of telehealth, a child could get a prescription for hormones from a California doctor while at home in Arkansas or in Florida.
But the Arkansas legislature has passed a law to protect minors from the danger of cross-sex hormones. And the Florida Department of Health found that these procedures failed the strict standards we expect for medical care.
This digital workaround violates both parents' rights and state authority. The U.S. Constitution's "full faith and credit" clause requires states to defer to each other's laws and jurisdictions. California is thumbing its nose at other states' authority and jurisdiction.
Imagine the parental nightmares this California bill would unleash. A mother in Texas who has sole custody of her daughter could find her custody stripped by a California court who sides with an estranged father who takes the daughter to California to get puberty blockers. No family is off limits, and no court decision is safe, because California has decided that its courts—not those of the family's home state—should be the final deciders of whether parents are fit to raise their child.
>>> The U.K. Cracks Down While the U.S. Doubles Down on “Gender Affirming” Care
Worse, California is luring minors who believe they were born in the wrong body to abandon their families.
The state legislature knew what it was doing. When SB107 was being debated, Californian Chloe Cole testified against it. She came down with an acute case of gender dysphoria as a 12-year-old. She found out the hard way that the promises of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and a double mastectomy at age 15 were lies.
The California assembly didn't listen to Chloe. Nor did it consider the testimony of the growing army of physicians and scientists, as well medical authorities in the U.K., Sweden, and Finland, who question the value and ethics of "gender affirming care."
Parents from across the country are joining that army. Many have urged Governor Newsom to veto the bill before it goes into effect on Oct. 1. If he fails to do so, Americans must stand for the safety and well-being of their kids. That means working to preserve the fundamental rights of parents and the authority of their own states to protect those rights.
If you share our concern over what has been taking place in our classrooms, please consider joining with us as we fight for families, for children, for education, for truth, and for common sense.
We continue to ask people whether they understand what is now taking place within our school systems. We continue to provide information and resources to help people, especially parents, gain some idea of what's being taught to kids (and why). And yes, we continue to ask people to get involved and help with the lifting.
We fight against children being taught to hate their country, to judge people based on the color of their skin, and to ignore the basic truths of biology. We fight against the sexualization in school of little ones and the destruction of the innocence of youth. Perhaps most importantly, we fight to ensure that the proper teaching of math, reading and writing remain at the forefront of a child's education.
The idea that it is parents who are responsible for raising, educating, and seeing to the well being of their kids, that is sacrosanct.
Join with us in preserving the attributes and ideals of this great nation.
Feel free to forward this newsletter to friends and family. Actually anyone who acknowledges the fundamental right of parents to raise, educate, and protect their children are invited to join with us. We are gathering a group of joyful warriors, folks who understands why (and for whom) we fight.

Three Initiatives for the California Ballot
Beginning next month the California Moms for Liberty chapters will begin gathering signatures to get three initiatives on the ballot here in California for 2024. Given what's been happening within the state legislature, the initiative process remains the last best hope for getting certain problems addressed.
The three initiatives are as follows:
Protect Children from Reproductive Harm - An initiative to prevent child sterilization using puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or transgender surgeries. Recent polling suggests 75% of California voters agree minors should be protected from puberty blockers, crosssex hormones and transgender surgeries.
School Transparency and Partnership - An initiative to require schools to notify parents when their child wants to socially transition. Recent polling suggests 68% of California voters support schools notifying parents of kids wanting to socially transition at school.
Protect Girls Sports and Spaces - An initiative to make certain girls have fair competition by ensuring athletic programs for girls are kept to females. Recent polling suggests 64% of California voters agree student athletes should only play on sports teams matching their biological sex.
Beginning in October we will be gathering signatures across the state. Please help spread the word. It is time for us to take back control and see to it that future generations of Californians enjoy the same blessings that we in this current generation have enjoyed.
Problem Books in Classroom Libraries
Back in January, a New York Times article reported that “Parents, activists, school board officials and lawmakers around the country are challenging books at a pace not seen in decades. The American Library Association said in a preliminary report that it received an ‘unprecedented’ 330 reports of book challenges, each of which can include multiple books, last fall.”
Moms for Liberty Santa Clara has been slowly determining which of the 31 school districts here in Santa Clara County have been making obscene, pornographic books available to students. We have done this through use of the California Public Records Act. We now have a fairly good idea of where the problem books are shelved. It is now time to move to doing the things necessary to see to it that these materials are removed from school libraries.
Parents have enough to worry about without having to wonder whether their young kids are going to stumble upon erotic literature in their classroom libraries. It is incumbent upon school board members to take better care that the books being allowed into schools and being made available to children are in fact age appropriate.
Kids should be allowed to be kids. The innocence of youth is precious and the world will have time enough to mess with these kids once they're a bit older.
If you would like to help us with this effort, please drop us an email.
While the U.S. Constitution does not expressly discuss parental rights, the right to protect, raise, and educate your own children has been described as the oldest of our fundamental liberties.
The history and culture of Western civilization embraces a strong tradition of parental rights, and the Supreme Court of these United States has described parental rights as being "established beyond debate as an enduring American tradition." See Wisconsin v. Yoder, 406 US 205, 232 (1972).
Parents need to begin to recognize the rights they hold as parents, and make their voices heard. Only then can we hope to turn things around.
For the Beginning Portion of October
Meeting: Mountain View Whisman October 5th @6:00pm
Please let us know if you'll be attending. We are trying to get a handle on if there's interest in doing this. Thanks!
Many thanks to all those who showed up to the Franklin-McKinley board meeting on September 26th in support school board member Marc Cooper. We had nearly 60 people in attendance, many of whom offered views during the public comment portion of the meeting.
Let's build on this success! Let's continue to raise awareness of the importance of parental rights! Join with Moms for Liberty Santa Clara County chapter as we work to get our education system back on track.
The Constitution of the United States
Having celebrated Constitution Day a couple weeks ago, we hope you've had a chance to look at and appreciate the genius behind our foundational law.
Interesting trivia tidbits:
Six men signed both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution: George Read, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, George Clymer, and James Wilson.
The Constitution does not require that the Speaker of the House of Representatives be a member of the House, although a nonmember has never been chosen Speaker.
Amendments to the Constitution are repealed by adding another amendment. Only one Amendment to the Constitution has ever been repealed -- the 18th (Prohibition)
Think on this...
THE STRENGTH OF THE CONSTITUTION LIES ENTIRELY IN THE DETERMINATION OF EACH CITIZEN TO DEFEND IT. ONLY IF EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN FEELS DUTY BOUND TO DO HIS SHARE IN THIS DEFENSE ARE THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS SECURE.
- Albert Einstein
THE PEOPLE MADE THE CONSTITUTION, AND THE PEOPLE CAN UNMAKE IT. IT IS THE CREATURE OF THEIR WILL, AND LIVES ONLY BY THEIR WILL
- John Marshall
WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE RIGHTFUL MASTERS OF BOTH CONGRESS AND THE COURTS, NOT TO OVERTHROW THE CONSTITUTION BUT TO OVERTHROW THE MEN WHO PERVERT THE CONSTITUTION.
- Abraham Lincoln
WHEN A CONSTITUTION AND ITS LAWS ARE NO LONGER FOLLOWED BY A GOVERNMENT, IT FALLS ON THE GOVERNED TO REVOLT IN ORDER TO RESTORE THEM.
