Thinking about joining the many Californians who have
decided to opt for the homeschooling option? There are a
good many reasons that that might be a good idea. Here are some
helpful resources for parents looking into this
increasingly popular idea...
Public Homeschool Programs in California
If you want to homeschool your kids in California, public homeschool programs are one option available to you. Students in these programs are California Public School students. All books and supplies are provided for free by the school. With most, a full curriculum is provided, while with some, you will get help putting one together.
Below is a list of some of the public homeschool options available in California. Many of these programs also offer actual classes, so children can enjoy both the benefits of
one-on-one learning and classroom experience. Keep in mind that public homeschool students will have to take state tests and that in-class programs may not be available depending on public health concerns.

"The homeschooling educational approach allows parents or guardians to educate their children at home rather than sending them to a traditional public or private school. Homeschooling families typically design their own curriculum or use pre-designed curricula tailored to their children's needs and interests. In many cases, homeschooling is a choice made by families seeking more flexibility, personalized instruction, or alignment with their values and beliefs about education."

California Virtual Academy (CAVA)
The California Virtual Academy is an online school that uses the K12.com curriculum. In-person classes may be offered in some areas. Online instructor-led classes are also available. Learning coaches (the term for the teaching parent or guardian) must implement the CAVA curriculum. Students must use the textbooks provided by the school. This is a good option for parents who don't want to put together a curriculum themselves. K12.com has a curriculum overview on its website.

Independent charter school programs are great for homeschoolers who don't want to go it alone but who don't want to be told what to teach. As long as you cover certain requirements, you are free to create a program that works for you and your child. Homeschool classes are offered at learning centers in Temecula on Margarita Road, Corona at 2nd and Grand Ave, Riverside on Chicago Ave, Santa Ana on N. Grand Ave, and Hemet on North Girard St.
American River Charter School

You may choose your own curriculum and supplies. Sports, drama, band, and dance are offered to high school students. This charter is contracted with Black Oak Mine Unified School District and follows all of the district's policies.

Get Involved...
If you share our concern over what has been taking place in our classrooms, please consider joining with us as we fight for families, for children, for education, for truth, and for common sense.
We continue to ask people whether they understand what is now taking place within our school systems. We continue to provide information and resources to help people, especially parents, gain some idea of what's being taught to kids (and why). And yes, we continue to ask people to get involved and help with the lifting.
We fight against children being taught to hate their country, to judge people based on the color of their skin, and to ignore the basic truths of biology. We fight against the sexualization in school of little ones and the destruction of the innocence of youth. Perhaps most importantly, we fight to ensure that the proper teaching of math, reading and writing remain at the forefront of a child's education.
The idea that it is parents who are responsible for raising, educating, and seeing to the well being of their kids, that is sacrosanct.
Join with us in preserving the attributes and ideals of this great nation.
Feel free to forward this newsletter to friends and family. Actually anyone who acknowledges the fundamental right of parents to raise, educate, and protect their children are invited to join with us. We are gathering a group of joyful warriors, folks who understands why (and for whom) we fight.
