Reasoning is now in very short supply. Too many people are willing to accept what they are being told. Even more disturbing, many people today seem unwilling to dig a little to learn about what they are notbeing told.
Faced with questions of what to do, what to think, or what to believe, those willing to apply reason and logic will take the time to test assertions. They will recognize the biases they bring to the table. They analyze the reasons for their favoring one conclusion over another. And they approach questions honestly.
"Step one to knowing the truth is wanting to know the truth. We often don't -- motivated reasoning leads us to see the world in the way most amenable to our current aims, and many researchers see this fun-house reality as a feature, not a bug. For example, the cognitive scientist Dan Sperber has put forth the argumentative theory of reasoning, which holds that reasoning did not evolve to refine beliefs, but to advance them and to defend against others'. That's because we're highly social, and it often pays more to convince others of a reality that benefits us -- I'm the best candidate; I deserve the last cookie -- than it does to know who really is the best candidate, or who really does deserve the last cookie. Similarly, we use reasoning to defend against others' arguments by picking them apart.
"This is why reasoning actually works pretty well collectively, as the strongest argument emerges in battle-hardened form from group discussion, but not so well individually, when we have no whetstone to hone our own assertions. 'When people talk with each other, and argue with each other, they reach better beliefs and better decisions,' says Hugo Mercier, a cognitive scientist who has worked with Sperber on the theory of argumentative reasoning.
'We suck quite a bit at doing that on our own, because that's not what we evolved for.'"
Do not accept things without thinking on them.
We should be teaching our young people to be thoughtful and well adjusted, so that later they will be properly equipped to take on the issues they will encounter.
It is not good that we are leaving them in the care of "woke" teachers for much of the day, being told that they are either privileged or victim, that they can choose their gender, and that their nation is evil.
This is America. We can and must do better.
Are schools teaching kids how to think? Or what to think?
The wokeness that has broken out within our school system is terrible, and is in danger of leaving an entire generation of Americans unable to think rationally and reasonably. That is the sad truth of the matter. It is time for everyone to begin to push back against the lunacy and insist that our educators start actually educating.
If you share our concern over what has been taking place in our classrooms, please consider joining with us as we fight for families, for children, for education, for truth, and for common sense.
We continue to ask people whether they understand what is now taking place within our school systems. We continue to provide information and resources to help people, especially parents, gain some idea of what's being taught to kids (and why). And yes, we continue to ask people to get involved and help with the lifting.
We fight against children being taught to hate their country, to judge people based on their skin color, and to ignore the basic truths of biology. We fight against the sexualization in school of little ones and the destruction of the innocence of youth. Perhaps most importantly, we fight to ensure that the proper teaching of math, reading and writing remains at the center to a child's education.
The idea that it is parents who are responsible for raising, educating, and seeing to the well being of their kids, that is sacrosanct.
Join with us in preserving the attributes and ideals of this great nation.
Feel free to forward this newsletter to friends and family. Actually anyone who acknowledges the fundamental right of parents to raise, educate, and protect their children are invited to join with us. We are gathering a group of joyful warriors, folks who understands why (and for whom) we fight.

Listen to the Founding Fathers
The men who founded this great nation knew the value of having a solid, proper education. Hear well what they told us.
"Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of the day."
- Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to P. S. du Pont de Nemours, April 1816
"It is favourable to liberty. Freedom can exist only in the society of knowledge. Without learning, men are incapable of knowing their rights, and where learning is confined to a few people, liberty can be neither equal nor universal."
- Benjamin Rush, in an essay written in 1786
"A diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty."
- James Madison, in a note to George Thompson in 1825
"If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the People, they will never be enslav'd. This will be their great Security."
- Samuel Adams, in a letter to James Warren in February 1779
"Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country. He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice. As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country."
- Noah Webster, in On the Education of Youth in America, 1788
"Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom."
- John Adams, in Defense of the Constitutions, 1787
While the U.S. Constitution does not expressly discuss parental rights, the right to protect, raise, and educate your own children has been described as the oldest of our fundamental liberties.
The history and culture of Western civilization embraces a strong tradition of parental rights, and the Supreme Court of these United States has described parental rights as being "established beyond debate as an enduring American tradition." See Wisconsin v. Yoder, 406 US 205, 232 (1972).
Parents need to begin to recognize the rights they hold as parents, and make their voices heard. Only then can we hope to turn things around.
Please let us know if you'll be attending. We are trying to get a handle on if there's interest in doing this. Thanks!
Think on this...
THE KEY TO WISDOM IS THIS -- CONSTANT AND FREQUENT QUESTIONING, FOR BY DOUBTING WE ARE LED TO QUESTION, BY QUESTIONING WE ARRIVE AT THE TRUTH.
- Peter Abelard
DON'T JUST TEACH YOUR KIDS TO READ. TEACH THEM TO QUESTION WHAT THEY READ. TEACH THEM TO QUESTION EVERYTHING.
- George Carlin
I WANT TO OPPOSE THE IDEA THAT THE SCHOOL HAS TO TEACH DIRECTLY THAT SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND THOSE ACCOMPLISHMENTS WHICH ONE HAS TO USE LATER DIRECTLY IN LIFE. THE DEMANDS OF LIFE ARE MUCH TOO MANIFOLD TO LET SUCH A SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN SCHOOL APPEAR POSSIBLE [...] THE DEVELOPMENT OF GENERAL ABILITY FOR INDEPENDENT THINKING AND JUDGEMENT SHOULD ALWAYS BE PLACED FOREMOST.
- Albert Einstein
