An article by Douglas Blair, former news producer and podcast host, The Daily Signal as posted to The Heritage Foundation site.
Your children are being indoctrinated. The education system designed to teach them how to think critically has been weaponized by the radical left to push an anti-American agenda.
As someone who has worked in education for four years, I have seen firsthand how your children are being ensnared by the left and their teachers.
I worked with kids from ages 3 to 13 and saw the brainwashing that exists at all levels of education. The left uses a combination of propaganda and suppression to push kids into the ensnaring grip of socialism and anti-patriotism.
First is the propaganda. Teachers will assign work instilling the idea that the pillars of Western civilization were evil, and their memories deserve to be thrown in the trash.
Here’s an example. I was helping one of my elementary school students with a homework assignment about listing famous Britons throughout history. She already had some of the more obvious ones: Shakespeare, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth.
“Well, how about Winston Churchill?” I recommended.
“Oh no, not him,” she replied. “He was a racist and didn’t think women should have rights. He wasn’t a good guy.”
I was floored. It clearly wasn’t something she came up with on her own. She was just regurgitating propaganda her teacher had taught her. All sense of nuance and critical thinking about the man who saved Europe from the Nazis was gone. Churchill committed “wrongthink,” so in the bin he goes. Another way the left propagandizes is through the normalization of its views and positions as nonpolitical.
|
|
|
The Black Lives Matter organization is a prime example of this. Many of my colleagues wore Black Lives Matter pins and apparel to school in blatant violation of school rules forbidding political statements on clothing.
When I asked for a justification of the behavior, I was told it wasn’t political to support the group, it was a matter of human rights. The children would see these pins and clothes and connect radical leftist groups with basic human dignity. “How dare you question Black Lives Matter? I was taught this is a matter of human rights!”
But it isn’t just a matter of actively teaching that America and the West are evil. Suppression of “wrongthink” is equally as important to the brainwashing process. The lessons I was allowed to teach also were censored.
I was preparing a lesson on Thanksgiving involving Pilgrims and American Indians, with an activity centered on making paper teepees for arts and crafts. Cue the progressive panic.
|
|
* It isn’t just a matter of actively teaching that America and the West are evil. Suppression of “wrongthink” is equally as important to the brainwashing process.
* The young adults who today gleefully tear down statues of the Founding Fathers were incubated in our very own schools.
* Conservatives must demand an end to the indoctrination of our youth or face a new American public taught since childhood that the country shouldn’t exist. |
|
|
Other teachers at the school were incensed that a non-Indian was “appropriating” Native American culture for an activity. Of course, these teachers weren’t Indians either, they just wanted to virtue signal. The whole thing culminated in a hilarious incident where my colleagues tracked down the one teacher on staff who was one-sixty-fourths Native American and asked her if it was cultural appropriation. In her esteemed authority, it most certainly was. The school administrators pulled me aside and promptly nixed the project.
The suppression extends to American religious values as well. I would try to engage my students with folk stories from around the globe to teach them world history and other cultures.
Story time went on without a hitch until I decided to tell stories from the Bible. Other teachers began to complain I was preaching Christian values to the children and attempting to convert them.
Keep in mind, this wasn’t a problem when I was sharing stories from other ancient cultures throughout history. Stories about ancient India and China were fine and encouraged as “sharing unheard voices.” After sharing the story of the Tower of Babel, I was told to switch back to non-Christian stories or face consequences.
The young adults who today gleefully tear down statues of the Founding Fathers were incubated in our very own schools, groomed to burst from the education system and burn America down. The left argues the great men and women who built this nation are problematic and must be destroyed. Conservatives must demand an end to the indoctrination of our youth or face a new American public taught since childhood that the country shouldn’t exist. |

The Shocking Truth about the Department of Education |
|
|
PragerU continues to advocate for changes in our education system.
What role should the government play in education? Should the Department of Education be disbanded?
Former DOE press secretary Angela Morabito and education reform advocate Sam Sorbo join PragerU CEO Marissa Streit to discuss the DOE’s failures and the future of education. Is school choice the solution, or should parents have complete control with no government involvement?
While both agree the DOE must go, they have very different opinions on what should happen next. |
|
|
Historic Date: March 20, 2025 Dismantling the Failed Department of Education |
|
|
President Trump signs an executive order marking the beginning of the end of the Department of Education and the restoration of proper education in the United States..
As President Trump states it, "My administration will take all lawful steps to shut down the department. We’re going to shut it down and shut it down as quickly as possible. It’s doing us no good,” |
|
|
|
Furthermore, the Trump administration has announced that all public schools must do the following to receive federal education funding:
Teach the Marxist roots of CRT, DEI, and show how ethnic studies promote hate, racial division, and destroy civilization.
Teach how slavery was only possible because of the black tribes who captured other black tribes for money and sold them to Arab and European slave traders.
Teach that transgenderism is biologically false and destroys children.
Include alternative scientific theories to evolution in biology class.
Present statistical data showing that homosexual lifestyles are linked to shorter lifespans, disease, and pedophilia.
Any school that fails to comply will lose DOE federal funding immediately. |

Stealing the Innocence of Our Youth... |
|
|
Megan's Story
A cautionary tale, as told by Karen England the Kitchen Table Activist:
When she was in middle school in Utah, Megan was introduced to pornography when a teacher recommended an erotic book. As an avid reader, Megan took the bait. She was immediately hooked on the explicit content, and she began seeking out and devouring more and more obscene reading material.
Soon, reading wasn’t enough. Megan wanted the sexual connections she was reading about. She started talking to strangers online. And as is common with teens who develop pornography addictions, Megan stopped talking to friends and family, creating a new world of isolation, loneliness, and sexual obsession.
All of this while she was still in middle school!
It’s not natural for a child to develop an interest in explicit sexual content.
It’s not natural for a child to seek out sexual contact with strangers.
Unless…
Unless that child has been groomed by an adult they trust, and unless that child is taught to believe that it’s perfectly normal for them to be exploring sex in literature, online, and in real life.
In schools across America, teachers and librarians are purposely giving sexual content to kids. This isn’t an exaggeration.
The American Library Association is one of many organizations with major influence in public schools, and they are publicly fighting to keep obscenities in kids' hands. Teachers’ unions are pushing sexual content onto teachers, numbing the teachers themselves to the graphic images and passages.
When teachers become desensitized, they no longer see how obscenity might harm a child. But some teachers and librarians are not so innocent. Some actually believe that kids are sexual and should be exposed to adult materials from a young age..
What happens to a kid who’s exposed to pornography?
If they’re like Megan, a child can develop an instant addiction to porn. With dopamine and hormones on overdrive in a teen brain that’s nowhere near fully developed, kids don’t know how to regulate their own feelings and behaviors. The excitement that comes from exploring the forbidden leads them down a dangerous path - emotional trauma, STDs, unwanted pregnancies, assault, sexual abuse, and even online sex trafficking.
In Megan’s own words, she describes how easily porn can take hold on a young mind.
|
“As a kid if you read that [pornographic material] you can’t get it out of your head. You can’t just close the book and forget about it. It ingrains in your brain and it will be there forever. You can’t get that innocence back and you will not be able to unsee those words.” |
|
|
|
Today Megan is 17 and recovered from her porn addiction. This was an entirely preventable trauma. Now at only 17 she’s chosen to speak out about her experience in order to protect other children. Even though she is healing, Megan lives with the fact that her innocence was destroyed.
Our schools are no longer safe havens for our children. They are full of dark, dangerous, damaging ideas provided by adults who are at best misled, and who are at worst, predatory. |

The Supreme Court will hear oral argument next month in a lawsuit by religiously diverse parents against Maryland's Montgomery County Public Schools for refusing to notify and let them opt out their young children from sexually themed LGBTQ "storybooks" in the K-5 English Language Arts curriculum.
Below are the books MCPS currently requires, its descriptions of each and grade level, according to its "LGBTQ-Inclusive Texts Approved for Instructional Use," last updated June 13, 2023. |
|
|
|
The original list is preserved as an exhibit in the plaintiffs' first complaint, and the two books removed by MCPS during litigation are marked [REMOVED]. The plaintiffs' opening brief mentions two others not on either list, What Are Your Words? (genderfluid pronouns) and Jacob's Room to Choose ("gender-free bathrooms").
Prekindergarten and Head Start
Pride Puppy [REMOVED]: "A young child and their family are having a wonderful time together celebrating Pride Day―meeting up with Grandma, making new friends and eating ice cream. But then something terrible happens: their dog gets lost in the parade! Luckily, there are lots of people around to help reunite the pup with his family."
Kindergarten through 5th grade
Uncle Bobby's Wedding: "a fun-loving girl named Chloe and her Uncle Bobby, whom she adores. But then she finds out Uncle Bobby is getting married, and meets Bobby's intended, Jamie, and worries that Uncle Bobby won't have time to spend with her anymore."
Intersection Allies: We Make Room for All: "the nine interconnected characters proudly describe themselves and their backgrounds, involving topics that range from a physical disability to language brokering, offering an opportunity to take pride in a personal story and connect to the collective struggle for justice."
My Rainbow [REMOVED] "tells the story of a dedicated mom who puts love into action as she creates the perfect rainbow-colored wig for her transgender daughter, based on the real-life experience of mother-daughter advocate duo Trinity and DeShanna Neal. Warm morning sunlight and love fill the Neal home."
Prince & Knight: "a children's picture book authored by Daniel Haack and illustrated by Stevie Lewis. Prince & Knight tells the story of a young prince who falls in love with a knight after the two work together to battle a dragon threatening the kingdom. At the conclusion of the book, the two wed."
Love, Violet: "Valentine’s Day brings a shy child named Violet the chance to connect with her crush, Mira, in Sullivan Wild’s uplifting wintry tale...a race through the snow – choreographically captured with dancelike grace in Chua’s simple, light-filled watercolors―brings the duo together at last, making the holiday one of joyful acceptance."
Born Ready: The True Story of a Boy Named Penelope: "In this exuberant companion to Jodie Patterson's adult memoir, The Bold World, Patterson shares her son Penelope's frustrations and triumphs on his journey to share himself with the world. Penelope's experiences show children that it always makes you stronger when you are true to yourself and who you really are."

Ethnic Studies as DEI Repackaged... |
|
|
|
As lawmakers consider expanding ethnic studies through legislation like AB 1468 (2025), a bill that would establish ethnic studies as a core area of study in public schools alongside math and science, a new report from the California Commission on the State of Hate raises serious concerns about whether these programs are achieving their intended goals. |
|
|
Click to read the findings |
The Commission, a state body established to track hate incidents and advise policymakers, found that ethnic studies lacks oversight, has no proven effectiveness in preventing hate, and in some cases, may be fostering division rather than inclusivity. Despite legal requirements that school curricula remain free from bias, the report highlights inconsistent enforcement, leaving students vulnerable to discrimination.
ICAN has released a detailed summary of the Commission’s findings, providing a closer look at the issues raised in the report. The analysis highlights key problems, including the absence of research showing that ethnic studies reduces hate, mounting lawsuits and public disputes over course content, and a shortage of qualified educators. The report also reveals that despite California laws prohibiting bias in education, enforcement has been weak, allowing activist-driven curricula to take hold in some districts. These concerns are particularly pressing as AB 1468 moves forward without addressing the structural failures identified in the Commission’s report. ICAN’s full summary of the Commission’s findings on ethnic studies is available here. |
Click to oppose AB 1468 |
Given these findings, ICAN is calling for a pause on ethnic studies expansion, no additional state funding, and a legislative oversight hearing to examine its implementation. Before moving forward with new mandates, lawmakers must ensure that ethnic studies programs are fair, unbiased, and properly enforced to serve all students. The Commission’s report reinforces ICAN’s longstanding concerns, and we remain committed to working with policymakers to demand accountability and necessary reforms. |

Effective Change Coming to America's Education...
excerpts from a note by Nicole Neily, President of Parents Defending Education
|
|
|
Parents Defending Education (PDE) has been making sure leaders in Washington hear directly from parents about what’s happening in our nation’s schools.
The Department of Education is working with DOGE (The Department for Government Efficiency) to cut millions from DEI programs in K-12 schools that undermine student learning and achievement. The department is also reviewing its programs to ensure they are “empowering parents to choose an excellent education for their children.”
Federal agencies are now using PDE's groundbreaking investigations and research to reform their programs and implement transformational changes to K-12 education. Among the reports decision-makers have cited as influencing their thinking are our exposé on how the Biden administration poured billions into DEI grants for education and our list of the ten most wasteful uses of Covid-relief funding for schools. Our investigations over the past four years have revealed systemic issues that are finally being addressed through policy reforms.
I also enjoy any time I can get to speak directly with members of Congress, who are also, first and foremost, parents!. In a recent fireside chat with U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce Chairman Tim Walberg, we discussed everything from curriculum transparency to how parents can submit indoctrination incidents to PDE to what Secretary Linda McMahon’s confirmation means for American education — issues that matter deeply to families across the country.
We are building a future where schools focus on academic excellence rather than political activism, where teachers teach and students learn, free from ideological pressure — and where parents' voices matter.

Red State School District Accused Of Discrimination Over Racially-Focused Teacher Groups
by Leif Le Mahieu as posted on The Daily Wire on 02 Mar |
|
|
A parental rights group on Wednesday filed a civil rights complaint against a South Carolina school district over teacher groups that “appear to exclude individuals based on their race.”
Parents Defending Education filed a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights for the Department of Education over multiple racially-focused “affinity groups” hosted by the Charleston County School District. The complaint, first shared with The Daily Wire, says that the groups violate federal civil rights laws by limiting participation by race.
The groups in question are the “Hispanic Latino Affinity Group” and the “Black Educator Affinity Group.”
“Charleston County School District has affinity group programming that is not open to all. The District allows only some teachers to participate in affinity group programming and participation is based on their race,” the complaint reads. “Descriptions of individual affinity groups in the District appear to exclude individuals based on their race.”
According to the district’s website, the Black Educator Affinity Group is “a space for black educators to connect to one another, support one another, and celebrate one another in a safe space.”
|
|
|
The mission of the Hispanic Latino Affinity Group is to promote “professional development and career advancement opportunities” for Hispanic and Latino employees in the district and to “create a Hispanic-Latino Affinity committee to support recruitment, retention, and innovation among CCSD Hispanic-Latino employees.” |
|
It's grotesque that districts continue to separate teachers, students, and community members on the basis of skin color. |
|
|
“Both affinity groups encourage hiring employees based on race and offer professional development opportunities exclusively for black and Hispanic-Latino employees,” the complaint says. “Furthermore, while other Districts ensures affinity group bodies are accessible to all teachers, Charleston County School District evades responsibility for the practices of its affinity groups, stating that ‘each affinity group establishes its own mission and goal.’”
The complaint argues that the affinity groups could run afoul of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits federal funding from going toward entities practicing racial discrimination, and the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment.
The school district told The Daily Wire that all employee were welcome to join the affinity groups. “Charleston County School District’s affinity groups were designed to provide support, mentorship, and networking opportunities for educators. Participation was completely voluntary, and all employees were welcome to join,” a spokesman told The Daily Wire.
“Leaders are currently reviewing all district practices that could be affected by the presidential administration’s orders to ensure all CCSD students receive the support and educational opportunities they need, including any necessary actions. Under the guidance of legal counsel, CCSD leadership met on February 25, February 26, and March 4 to advance discussions and implement any appropriate changes,” the district added.
Parents Defending Education President Nicole Neily told The Daily Wire that it would continue to challenge districts like Charleston that promote racially-focused programs and opportunities.
“It’s grotesque that districts continue to separate teachers, students, and community members on the basis of skin color, and PDE will continue to file complaints about these types of racially segregated programs until such practices end,” she said. “Where there’s smoke there’s fire — and sadly, when a school spends finite time and resources organizing events like this, we often see other discriminatory practices on the books as well.”
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in January directing all federal funding to be cut off for school districts that promote racial and gender ideology in an effort to go after the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at schools across the country. |

Exposing $1 Billion in Department of Education DEI Grants
PDE’s investigations follow the money – and policymakers are taking notice.
Our GrantEd project found the Department of Education spent $1 billion on DEI grants over the last few years, a perfect example of how bureaucrats are prioritizing their preferred ideologies over educating our students.
|
|
|
The good news is the current administration is turning off the spigot thanks to our research – leaders in Washington have cited this and other reports, like our investigation into how school districts spent Covid-relief funds, as the reason they’re scrutinizing how the Department of Education spends its budget. |

If you share our concern over what has been taking place in our classrooms, please consider joining with us as we fight for families, for children, for education, for truth, and for common sense.
We continue to ask people whether they understand what is now taking place within our school systems. We continue to provide information and resources to help people, especially parents, gain some idea of what's being taught to kids (and why). And yes, we continue to ask people to get involved and help with the lifting.
We fight against children being taught to hate their country, to judge people based on the color of their skin, and to ignore the basic truths of biology. We fight against the sexualization in school of little ones and the destruction of the innocence of youth. Perhaps most importantly, we fight to ensure that the proper teaching of math, reading and writing remain at the forefront of a child's education.
The idea that it is parents who are responsible for raising, educating, and seeing to the well being of their kids, that is sacrosanct.
